Joseph Allen Needs Support Affidavits

[Note: Friends of Justice is a personal blog. I speak only for myself.]

Dear Friend of Justice,

Most of you know about the case of Nancy Smith and Joseph Allen of Lorain, Ohio:  http://www.crimemagazine.com/shame-lorain-ohio

One point everyone agrees on: If Smith and Allen are not both guilty, then they are both innocent.

Nancy Smith has gained the support of the Ohio Innocence Project and they have filed a clemency petition on her behalf.

Joseph Allen has an excellent but very busy pro bono attorney.

Here is a summary of Joseph’s story: http://ncrj.org/the-wrongful-conviction-of-joseph-allen-and-nancy-smith/

Joseph’s attorney is also working on a clemency petition. He would like affidavits from people who can attest to Joseph’s character. I know many of you have formed a personal relationship with Joseph.

Send a letter to Joseph’s attorney, K. Ronald Bailey. He will turn it into an affidavit and mail it back to you for signature. So be sure to include your mailing address on the letter.

I presume it would be most convenient for mr. Bailey to receive these letters in electronic form. His email address is krbailey@baileyandassoc.com.

Thank you for your concern about my good friend, Jospeh Allen.

  1. I do not know Mr. Allen but I would like to help in his defense. I cannot do so materially because I help so many priests in prison.
Is there anything that I could write which would be helpful to him and his attorney? I’m sorry that his pro bono attorney is so busy. Mr Allen needs an attorney who can devote more time to his case.

  2. Mr. Bailey is very busy. But he is also an excellent attorney very committed to helping Joseph. Thank you so much for your concern. But right now, Bailey is looking for character references from people who’ve had personal interactions with Joseph.

    Mr. Chatelle,

Thanks for everything you are doing regarding Nancy and Joe. Both are truly innocent and are the victims of a corrupt justice system. I would like to see both get full pardons, but the state will most likely commute their sentences to avoid paying out wrongful imprisonment fees.
