NCRJ is a 501(c)(3) organization. Your contributions are tax-deductible. You will receive a receipt in the mail.
Your donation may go toward all our educational efforts and advocacy for criminal justice reform and civil and human rights.
You may also wish to aid our “sponsored cases” — individuals who have been wrongly accused or convicted and whose cases we have vetted to assure us of their innocence. In general, direct donations to the legal defense of individuals are not tax-deductible. However, as an educational organization committed to all accused persons, NCRJ is allowed to contribute financially to specific defendants, prisoners, or former offenders.
You may leave it to us to give to those whose need is greatest. Or you may suggest that your funds be directed toward one or more individuals (tell us at the end of your PayPal donation or enclose a note when you send a check). We will take your desires into serious consideration. But to safeguard your tax deduction and our nonprofit status, we cannot promise to deposit any or all of the money into any particular fund.
